BIG NEWS. The photo above will soon be on display in a local museum!!! Recently a local museum "Crystal Bridges" announced that they would be sponsering an exhibit called "Looking At Our Landscape" and they were inviting local citizens to submit photos for the exhibit. Forty photos were to be selected to be exhibited at the museum and the remainder will be available for viewing on the museum web site beginning April 1. Well, I submitted three photos. Saturday an envelope arrived in the mail, with the announcement that one of my photographs had been selected as a part of the forty photos to be displayed at the museum. I have NEVER had anything like this happen to me before, so to say that I am pumped is an understatement.
The photo is titled "Sunday on the Pig Trail". It was taken in November of 2008 when we had a spectacular fall. The Pig Trail is actually Highway 23 as it runs through the Ozark National Forest, south of Fayetteville, Arkansas to I-40. I was fortunate that the road had obviously been resurfaced prior to my visit so the asphalt was fresh and the striping was new. This photo was taken with a Nikon D-80 digital camera equipped with an 18-135mm lens. I would encourage any of you that are interested in photography to seek out these kinds of opportunities. You never know, you just might have one of your photos displayed for the public to view. This is gonna be cool!
