Skywatch Friday Thoughts and More

Just Passing Through
It had be overcast, misting and raining all day long.  Then around 4:00 p.m. the cold front finally moved through the area and brought the promise of clearer skies the following day.  This is the end of the day, sometime around 6:00 p.m.
Weather patterns come and go.  Here in the Southeast and Southwest, people will tell you, if you don't like this weather, just wait a couple of hours, It'll change again.  A couple of weeks ago we had 24" of snow on the ground.  A week later, it was 70 degrees and no snow to be found anywhere.  While we were distraught over the snow, our discomfort with the weather was only temporary.  Our journey through life is much the same as the weather.  This earth is our temporary home and we are destined to spend some of our days in sorrow.  Some of us will spend most of our lives in less than ideal conditions.  Many of us will have little control over some of our circumstances.  However, where we spend eternity is our choice.  For those who have called on the name of Jesus, there is a glorious home awaiting them.  Regardless of how life treats us, and how much discomfort we are asked to bear here, in this life, there is a home in Glory waiting for us.  And, just like the 24" of snow,  we will forget all about our temporary discomfort in this life when we rise to meet our Savior.  In an instant I will be in a place of Unclouded Days.  Enjoy.  Have a blessed week-end.

  1. Your photograph of the sunset is gorgeous. 6:00 must have been that perfect moment to pull out the old camera. I have been listening to the music and remember my visits to the Carter Family Homeplace where we would dance, sing, and play music. Yes, I am a fiddle player and LOVE my old timey gospel music. I want I’ll Flay Away played at my funeral as well as Hard Times Come Again No More. You are going to have to put up a UTube singing of that one. That really would put a grin on my face. Happy weekend.
