Bikes, Blues, and BBQ

Every year, over 100,000 bikers descend on Northwest Arkansas for 4-Day event known as Bikes, Blues, and BBQ.  Ground zero for the event is on Dickson Street, in Fayetteville, AR.  However bikers can be found in hotels, restaurants, and dealerships for 25 miles in every direction from the headquarters location.  Rogers, AR is about 20 miles north of Fayetteville, and has several large motorcycle dealerships, including Pig Trail Harley-Davidson.  Needless to say, this is the Mother Ship for the local gathering.  I spent a couple of hours there on Thursday capturing some images of these amazing machines.  They come in all shapes and sizes.

There are bikes that have served our country and been restored to their former glory.  If only we could do the same for some of those who served.

There were bikes with an understated elegance and power.  The top one just might be my favorite of all.

There were bikes that seemed to be ready to set the world on fire.

Of course there were those for which there is NO such thing as too much bling.  I'll post a few more photos next week, so stay tuned.  One last thing, just like the bikes, the riders come in all shapes and sizes.

  3. Great shots. It's crazy how there are so many different ways to customize a bike.
