Inspiration Thursday

Last week my wife and I made the two hour drive to Branson, MO to see a gospel music event, The Cathedrals Family Reunion. The Cathedrals were the greatest quartet in gospel music history spanning nearly 60 years.  The two founders, Glen Payne and George Younce passed away several years ago.  Several artists that had been former members of the quartet, all of whom now have their own groups, got together for a reunion tour.  I did not take any photos of this event, I just sat back and enjoyed the music.  The highlight of the concerts was the time spent around the piano harmonizing.  Many groups sing to complicated music tracks and the songs are wonderful, but occasionally it is just a blessing to hear several voices gathered around a piano harmonizing and praising our Savior through music.  Enjoy.

Here is the last members of the Cathedrals Quartet singing on a Gaither Homecoming video. They are Ernie Haas, Scott Fowler, Glen Payne, and George Younce. Enjoy and have a blessed week-end.
