Ruby Tuesday - Decatur, IL Church Tour Part II

Click on badge to view other participants.

This week's Ruby Tuesday takes us to the second stop on our Decatur, Illinois church tour.  This red door and red sandstone gem is the Episcopal Church.  It is located across the street from the Catholic church that I featured earlier.  Scroll down to see it.

Something tells me that these red doors are going to become a Ruby Tuesday badge very soon.

I have got to get inside this church and photograph these windows!

You have to love the rusticated stone details.

Those fish-scale shingles are a wonderful detail.

  6. What fabulous stained glass windows! I always marvel at the work that went into building some of this older churches; they are so ornate! (Have you read Pillars of the Earth by K. Follett? He writes about the building of a church in the 1500's and the tale is a wonder!)

  10. Red doors are often seen on Episcopal churches. They are symbolic of the Holy Spirit.
