Last week was a busy sports week. Monday the youngest granddaughter had a JV regional track meet. She finished in second place for the high jump, which qualified her to participate in the Varsity conference track meet last Thursday. These are images from the varsity meet.
I have always admired anyone that will grab one end of a pole and propel themselves into the air. The pole vault is a really a fun event to watch.
The only time I'm this high off the ground, an airline is involved.
Half of the fun in clearing the bar is the trip to the top.
This is the youngest grand daughter competing in her first varsity meet as a freshman. She didn't qualify for state, but it was a great experience for her to build on for next year.
This is one of the other varsity competitors and I think one of the top finishers.
One of the best places to watch the 200m is on the curve. It is definitely the best place to photograph the race. All in all it was a good day. Track meets are l-o-n-g events. I only saw about 25% of this meet. Next year I will probably go for the entire day.
Such great actions shots. At the end of the week your wife will be retired and you'll be able to go wherever and whenever your grandcrew are competing. Excellent.

You have an athletic family. Of course talent doesn't get you far in competitions, one has to train and be disciplined to build on the talent.
ReplyDeleteThe pole vault is an amazing event these days. It always was but the people that do it at the top level now, wow do they really soar high.
