Skywatch Friday Thoughts and More

Going through the archives I keep finding images that I enjoy viewing again and I think you might like to see as well.  I am fortunate to have three or four places that I can go to photograph sunrises and sunsets that are free of power lines, traffic, light poles and other obstructions.  These are not great expanses of space, just places with great views.

As I review these images I am reminded of the privilege that I have to enjoy God's creation.  Not everyone is so fortunate.  This week the Gaither Vocal Band says it all.  I am "Greatly Blessed".  Enjoy.

Skywatch Rewind II
While I'm taking a bit of a blogging break, here are a few more images from the archives.

While the images may be recycled, the inspirational songs continue to be ones making their first appearance here in the blog.  We are just around the corner from attending the National Quartet convention in Louisville, KY, September 12-17.  I can't wait.  One of the featured groups will be the Gaither Vocal Band.  They are the best in the business when in comes to Southern Gospel music.  The images above are a collection of sunrises and sunsets.  They are the alpha and omega of the day, the beginning and the end.  When it comes to the Alpha and the Omega of our being there is only One.  The King of kings and the Lord of lords.  Have a blessed week-end and enjoy the Gaither Vocal Band.

Since I'm taking a little time off from blogging, I thought I'd at least share a few of my favorite Skywatch Friday captures from the archives.  Enjoy.

It is Friday and I do have a tradition of sharing an inspirational song with you.  I do that mostly because looking at the sky is an inspiration to me.  I look forward to each morning and evening to see what God will do with His creation.  Truly, I Stand Amazed In The Presence of Jesus The Nazarine.  Have a blessed week-end.

Time Out

I'm going to take a break.  Maybe a week, maybe a month...I don't know.  I just know that I need to step away from blogging for a little while.  I need to get out a do some more photography, but these 100 degree temperatures are making that nearly impossible.  Any way, I'll probably make my usual rounds and post a few comments, but things are going to be very quiet at Driller's Place for a little while.  Later all.

Sunset Cruise

Every time I see a sunrise or a sunset, I am amazed at God's creation.  Every time I look at my life, I am amazed that God loves me.

Ruby Tuesday

Where on earth did I find Ruby Red sunflowers, you ask. Come with me, to a place that has....

Everything From A to Z

Last Saturday my wife and I took a one hour drive south to Alma, Arkansas.  There is a business on the north edge of town that has everything from A to Z.  In fact that is the name of the business.  There is A to Z Sporting Goods, A to Z Gifts, A to Z Fashions, A to Z Furniture and A to Z Tools.
I have to admit, my favorite building was A to Z tools.  Most of the merchandise was off brand, over-runs, discontinued items, or cheap imports, but there were bargains to be found for the knowledgeable shopper.
As you can see, this is a NO FRILLS shopping experience, but it does kill a hot afternoon in air conditioned comfort.  This place makes Walmart look like Neiman Marcus!
I have to say that the Sporting Goods building offered the least number of true bargains.  Much of the product in here was close to retail price.  Still, it was an interesting place.
The Flowers & Gifts building was, by far the most colorful and is the building that housed the artificial Ruby Red sunflowers.  I spent very little time in here, but there were some very good prices on back packs of all things.
So, if you're looking for something to do on a hot summer day, and live withing an hour of this place, it is a fun experience.  I'm sure you have something similar in your area.  What's your favorite dive place to kill time?
