2017 Christmas Music Marathon - Day 15

Of all the traditions that our family enjoys at Christmas, our favorite is probably the Christmas Eve worship service. We have lived in three states and been members of several congregations over the years, but each one has had special Christmas Eve services. Some have celebrated the Lord's Supper, others have had musical presentations, and a few have told the story of the birth of the Savior. All have served to allow us to stop and focus on the true meaning of Christmas. The birth of Christ is the single most important event in human history. May your family know the joy that can only come from knowing the Savior.

2016 Christmas Music Marathon - Day 19

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1) Man has always had a way to communicate with his creator. Adam and Eve walked daily with God until temptation severed the relationship. Moses spoke to God often, yet was not allowed to enter the promised land because of his disobedience. Paul encountered God on a dusty road and later wrote nearly half of the New Testament. Today, followers of Christ communicate with their Creator through reading His Word and prayer. God always has been, and always will be. Christmas is the celebration of that time in which the God of all creation put on the face of man and walked among His creation. Have a blessed day.

2015 Christmas Music Marathon - Day 10

I must say, I do enjoy putting together the music each year. I also enjoy creating the images that you see as a part of each post. Some of them relate directly to the music selection and some are just images that I have created and want to share. Occasionally, you get some unexpected results. We have a dark granite island in our kitchen. When I gathered the decorations to compose this image I wasn't sure what the final results would look like, but I think the reflection is better than I had imagined. It reminds me that we are to be a reflection of Christ in this world. What kind of image do we project to the world around us. Are we a reflection of this world, filled with anger, prejudice, vanity, jealously, pride, etc., or, are we a reflection of the One who can change a heart through, love. Christ was a reflection of His father and we are to be a reflection of Him as well. Have a blessed day.

2014 Christmas Music Marathon - Day 24

Do you ever watch HGTV? Do you watch some of the remodel shows where a yard, a room or a home is transformed in a matter of days or weeks? The big moment comes when the new space is revealed to the client. Often the client is overcome with emotion by the transformation. One of my favorite shows is "Fixer Upper" I am reminded that all of us are "Fixer Uppers". As a child of God, He is preparing a place specifically designed and created for me. One day I am going to step into eternity and He is going to reveal my place to me. I know that I will be overcome by what I see. What a Day That Will Be.
