Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I have to admit, I really had to scramble to capture a couple of images for this post.  A couple of ideas that I had didn't work out and I had to come up with a Plan B at the last minute.  So, here we go.

Hidden
Scramble With Friends is the electronic version of Boggle.  You have to find as many words, "Hidden" in the letters as possible, within a two minute time limit.  Since it is an IPhone/IPad Ap, you can play the game with virtually anyone on planet earth.  I'm not very good at it, but I do enjoy playing this game.  I'm much better at Words With Friends.

Plain
This is what most people would consider a "Plain" cup of coffee.  I prefer cream in mine.  The cup is vintage Frankoma pottery.  Frankoma was founded by John Frank in Norman, Oklahoma 1933. John Frank had been a professor in ceramics at the University of Oklahoma at Norman from 1927 to 1936 and used light-hued local Ada clay in his initial products. He moved the company to Sapulpa in 1938, only to soon rebuild that factory after a fire later that year. The name Frankoma was created from Frank's last name and the last three letters of the state of Oklahoma. The facility is closed now and much of the pottery is considered collectable.

Left

Apparently "Left" is not allowed at this intersection.  Oh well, maybe later.

Fast
You are looking at the tail light of a 2013 Camaro ZL1.  Under the hood of this little beast is a 6.2 liter, 580 hp, V-8.  That's right, 580 horsepower.  Fast, doesn't begin to describe this car, but if you're driving anything else, tail lights are all that you will see of this latest edition of the Chevy iconic brand.

Peace
We live in a world desperately in need of peace.  Just like love, most people are looking for peace in all of the wrong places.  True peace will not come to a family, a city, a state, or a country, until it comes to each person.  Peace is not simply the absence of conflict.  Peace is not found in wealth, or power, or religion. True individual peace can only be found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Have a blessed Sunday afternoon.

  4. Well, you got me on hidden as I have no idea what youre talking about!
I can go with the 'plain' part ; have blue Frankhoma in our house, my parents have the green and my grandparents had green and tan. Was in Sapulpa a few weeks ago and drove by the 'Frankhoma House' actually.
'Left'? Dont know if 'no left' fits, but its good political advice. And remember, two wrongs dont make a right, but three lefts do....
Fast that new Camaro definitely is. However, I have a buddy with an old Plymouth that would like to argue as to who would see whose taillights! :)
    and Peace; you nailed it.

  7. Your Plan B is pretty darn great. This is a super set of photos. I have heard of Frankoma pottery but had never heard the origin of the name.

  11. Very creative set! I think I'll have to download that app....I do enjoy word games. Love the traffic signs, but peace is my favorite. It's so simple but says so much.

  12. I had to check out that fast shot-the red popped right out of the linky line up. I love that you tell all about the car, because most of the SHS participants are women and it's refreshing to get a man's perspective. My fave is the left shot. I always enjoy an image that has both picture and text elements. Zoom, zoom, zoom. Have a great day.

  13. Ah plain black coffee, what I have sitting next to me right now. What a wonderful interpretation. And how fitting is referencing the lord as Peace especially on a sunday. Great interpretations.

  14. Dang it, I wanted so bad to find a 'left' road sign. Bonus points to you for getting this one. The word game looks fun and as for coffee - everyone jokes that I like a little coffee with my cream (like that would offend me - haha!). Enjoy!

  16. Oh I enjoyed your set a lot. My favorites were Plain (cool looking cup) and Peace, that was lovely. Fast certainly sounds exactly that with that much horsepower under the hood.
