Recently my wife and I spent a few days at the Wilderness Lodge, on Table Rock Lake, near Branson, Missouri.  It is part of a huge resort complex developed, built, and owned by Johnny Morris, founder and owner of Bass Pro Shops.  Fall in the Ozarks is a special season.  The trees are changing colors and there is a crispness to the air that is unlike any other season.  Late one morning I stepped onto the balcony of our room and was greeted with this view of another lodge on the property.  Life on this earth just doesn't get much better than this.  Have a blessed week-end.

 

Inspiration Thursday

I probably should have included this video in last week's post.  I just found it, and I think it is a good reminder that there is never a need for anyone to be alone.



 Depending on your age and how long you have been a Christian, or not, the question next question might be, "What are you ready for?" If you have never trusted Christ as your savior, are you ready now to make that decision.? If you are new in your Christian journey or have had a difficult time deciding how God wants you to serve Him, are you ready now to do whatever He reveals to you as His will for your life? If you are a Senior Adult and have served Him for a lifetime, maybe you're just ready to go home. Regardless of your place in life, "Are you Ready Now?"

Ruby Tuesday - October Rose

October Rose

So far Autumn in the Ozarks has been pretty mild.  In fact, some of the bermuda grass is still green and my knockout roses are still blooming.  Knockout roses are almost evergreens and will bloom into late fall.  As you can tell, we have had just the right amount of rain at just the right time to enhance the photographs.  I love it when than happens.  I think water droplets add so much more interest to images of flowers.  Happy Ruby Tuesday.

Southern Raised

Last night the Senior Adult ministry of our church had their Thanksgiving banquet.  Our musical guests was the Gospel contemporary bluegrass band Southern Raised.  My wife and I have a special connection to this talented set of sisters and their baby brother.  Twenty years ago my wife and I taught the young married Bible Study group in our church.  The parents of Southern Raised were in our class.  It was great to see the entire family and they are extremely talented.

After the concert we got a picture taken with the group.  Little brother is on the far left and his poster image is photo bombing his sisters.  Next is the father of this group, then myself, the mother of these talented young adults, my wife, and finally the three older sisters.

These youngsters are classically trained musicians.  A little over seven years ago, they decided to play contemporary bluegrass gospel.  They picked up the instruments, learned how to sing and now they are an award winning group.  If you ever get the chance to see them in person, please do.  You will have a great time and you'll be amazed at the depth of their talent.  They are musicians, vocalists, and songwriters.  Here are a couple of examples of their talent.

Skywatch Friday - Chapel in the Ozarks

Okay, so that sky is crystal blue and not all that interesting, but the chapel and the autumn colors are a different story.  Recently my wife and I spent a few days at Big Cedar Lodge on Table Rock Lake, near Branson, MO.  The whole complex is owned by Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris.  Recently, they have added a complex with a golf course, event center, restaurants, this chapel and a honeymoon cabin.  The chapel alone is enough to make you want to renew your vows.  There is no better time to visit Big Cedar than autumn.  The colors are just spectacular and the weather was perfect.  How about you, do you ever plan a fall getaway?  You really should.

Inspiration Thursday - One IsThe Loneliest Number

The rock band Three Dog Night recorded a song titled "One is the Loneliest Number".  There is a lot of truth to that phrase.  Have you ever felt alone?  Has there been a time in your life when is seemed that no one listened to what you had to say or seemed to care about your opinion?  Have you ever been in a situation where you felt that you were left to face the challenge alone?  I'll have to admit, that as an only child, I have felt like I was all alone in this world on many occasions.  There are times when is seems that no friends, colleagues, support groups, or anything else is available to walk through a difficult situation with you.  But there is an answer.  The God of all creation knows you better than you know yourself.  In fact, Christ Himself tells us that the very hairs on our head are numbered.  So, the choice to be alone is ours and ours alone.
The Bible tells me, "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.  But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven."  God desires to have a relationship with each of us, but He leaves that choice up to us.  If we are willing to confess our sinfulness, repent, acknowledge that Christ is the Son of God and ask for His forgiveness, He will enter into a relationship with us and we will NEVER be alone again...Ever!  Have a blessed day.
