This week's Ruby Tuesday takes us to the second stop on our Decatur, Illinois church tour. This red door and red sandstone gem is the Episcopal Church. It is located across the street from the Catholic church that I featured earlier. Scroll down to see it.
Something tells me that these red doors are going to become a Ruby Tuesday badge very soon.
I have got to get inside this church and photograph these windows!
You have to love the rusticated stone details.
Those fish-scale shingles are a wonderful detail.
Those doors stand out very nicely too.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. Big hug. :)
Love those details!
ReplyDeleteYou are cordially invited to view my Ruby Tuesday at Nostalgic Marveling.
the round stained glass window with the circles inside... amazed and just trying to imagine what it looks like with light shining through

ReplyDeleteMy Ruby Link for you
What fabulous stained glass windows! I always marvel at the work that went into building some of this older churches; they are so ornate! (Have you read Pillars of the Earth by K. Follett? He writes about the building of a church in the 1500's and the tale is a wonder!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful structure as is the one from earlier. Craftsmanship...people took so much pride in what they did...
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots!! I love that red door very classy to me. Happy Tuesday!

While the Ruby Tuesday is great, man, oh, man, I love the old churches, and I'm looking forward to more....
ReplyDeleteRed doors are often seen on Episcopal churches. They are symbolic of the Holy Spirit.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the red brick too, driller!
