I don't think I have ever seen so many at one time--we have a few that flit by our yard, but it is rare to see so many at once! Hope you are staying warm and dry! What a storm! tm
Dang girl....this makes me so totally jealous. Just look at all that beauty!!! The cardinals that is, you can keep the snow...tho, here in South Texas they're predicting some of that white stuff as I type. Ewwww. I'd rather have the cardinals.
Here I am, playing catch up with my bloggin' buddies again...seems like lately that is what I've been doing. We finished our Spring Cleaning yesterday. All done! Yay. Thanks for visiting with me.
They seem to be having a group discussion on weather.
ReplyDeleteIndrani: Yes, they're discussing "Global Warming".
ReplyDeleteWow, love all the cardinals. They do not seem to mind the cold.
ReplyDeleteThese are SO pretty! I love the red oftheir feathers against the white snow.
ReplyDeleteIt really looks cold outside too. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific WW. Big hug. :)
It's a convention of cardinals!
ReplyDeleteSEEING RED
Tonight, my dear, I’m seeing red—
Or is it puce or rose?
Whatever’s going round my head
Is tingling all my toes.
My heart, my dear, becomes inflamed
With passion sore ablaze;
Perhaps it is because I miss
Your glowing, crimson gaze.
Whate’er the cause, my face is flushed
Like a ripened cherry,
No longer healthy, but inflamed—
See the vessels serry*?
A certain sanguine aftertaste
Is clinging to my tongue,
For I have kissed your ruby lips—
To which the claret clung.
*serry – (archaic) to crowd closely together

I don't know if you are a fan of the Cardinals ( I know that at least you used to be a fan of the Drillers) but the Cardinals are fans of yours.
ReplyDeleteWow, I see maybe two male cardinals a day at my feeder. WHat are you feedint them?! Excellent photos!
ReplyDeleteEileen: I think they mind, they just don't have a choice.
ReplyDeleteBuckaroomama: It does make a nice contrast.
Magical Mystical Teacher: It is quite a gathering.
Yogi: The Drillers (Oilers) were a Cardinal farm club, weren't they?
Karen: It is a fruit/nut/seed blend that I get at Lowe's and Walmart. All the birds seem to love it.
Sandee: It is very cold outside. It will be 5 degrees here tonight. Wind chill will approach -15! Brrrr.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots...I love cardinals in the winter...they's a great contrast against drab skies & landscapes!

John: They are among my favorite birds.
ReplyDeleteOrnery's Wife: At one point, there were 17 of them, male and female at my two feeding stations.
